Just now, Ueno Asaki, the beautiful Women’s Meijin, defeated Moro Arisa 3-dan to become the challenger for the Women’s Kisei title. She will challenge her younger sister, Ueno Risa 3-dan, for the title on January 15th next year. The title battle between sisters dates back to the 4th Women’s Honinbo Tournament in 1985, where Honda Yukiko, the older Honinbo, faced Kusunoki Mitsuko 7-dan, with Kusunoki ultimately winning 2-1.  |

| Kim Eun-ji Wins Her First Women’s World Title! Kim Eun-ji 9p has claimed her first world championship by defeating Choi Jeong 9p in the finals of the 8th Wu Qingyuan Cup World Women’s Go Championship. This was Kim’s first appearance in the finals of a world tournament, and she clinched the title with a 2-1 series victory. Kim Eun-ji won the first game, Choi Jeong took the second, but in the decisive third game, Kim capitalized on several judgment errors by Choi and maintained her lead until the end. The final match drew intense attention as a clash between the world’s top-ranked women players. Kim, playing Black, secured victory by resignation after 223 moves, thanks to sharp play and flawless execution in the middle and endgame. Both Kim Eun-ji and Choi Jeong first reached the number one women’s rank in domestic rankings at age 17—Choi in 2013, and Kim in 2024. Choi Jeong’s decade-long dominance is now being challenged by Kim, who has alternated at the top since last year and is building her own legacy. This victory marks Kim Eun-ji’s tenth career title and her third major championship of the year, following wins at the Ha Chan-seok Cup and the Haesung Women’s Kiseong Championship. With this win, she also surpassed 300 million won in annual prize money, overtaking Choi Jeong for the first time. Congratulations to Kim Eun-ji on this historic achievement!    |

La Coupe Maître Lim – Championnat de France des Clubs s’achève avec la victoire de…… …l’équipe du Club de Go d’Antony, qui se défait du Club de Go de Grenoble dans une finale à couper le souffle, après des demi-finales à quelques demi points près et groupes morts par demi-demi-douzaines.  Troisième sur ce podium avec une nouvelle maîtrise inédite de la victoire à 0.5pts face au Club de Go d’Aligre, le Club de Go de Lyon ! Bravo à toutes les 16 équipes et tous les joueurs pour cette édition réussie. Un grand merci au club de Clermont-Ferrand pour l’organisation, l’accueil et le sourire. Rendez-vous l’année prochaine pour un tournoi encore plus intense et un adversaire à faire tomber : Antony  Mais…cela sera t’il possible ?
